Watching other people get to leave early for the day to putt a few on the greens can make one green with envy. It's hard to know just exactly what the allure is of golf. Is it the rolling emerald hills? Or the satisfaction of walking and getting some exercise? Maybe it's an escape from family and work responsibilities? Whatever the reason is and it does vary by the individual, Americans and natives of other countries alike love to golf.
The typical game of golf is eighteen holes in length, and is sometimes grouped in nines and played for two rounds. A course can have as many as thirty-six holes equaling two rounds. Pars range generally from 3 to 5 for the various holes and are based on putting distance. A course may even include pars up to 6. Pars are figured in hundreds of yards.
Golfing is very popular throughout the United States, Canada, and a decent part of Europe. So, just because one has to travel outside the country doesn't mean golf must be left behind. It can be interesting and challenging to putt around on new greens in new places. There are at least 25,000 places worldwide to play golf and there may be more. New places are springing up all the time as the sport gains in popularity. Young and old alike can engage in the sport which can make it fun at any stage of life. The U.S. is loaded with choices to put putting skills to the test. Country clubs, golf clubs, and golf courses are all viable options. Each gives the ability to hone those putting talents. One should pick a place to regularly golf at depending upon level of comfortability with the place. Also, each one may feature something a little different so it may pay to shop around before landing one that is up to par.
